The biggest myth that most people fall prey to is that they believe in something called a “perfect diet”. No two humans are alike, and the best diet may not be the same for one person. However, depending on your age, there are some foods that you should avoid and some that you should include in your daily diet to stay healthy.
Bethesda has prepared foods and diets that should be consumed by different age groups and would like to share this information with you.1 – When you are 20 years old When you are 20, it’s time to eat harmful foods! Replace potato chips with popcorn or sweet potatoes, substitute cocoa milk with bitter chocolate, ice cream with yogurt, and cook cooked chicken with vegetables. Add foods high in omega-3 fatty acids and folic acid to your diet, such as leafy vegetables, bread, pasta, walnuts, salmon and chia seeds.
2 – When you are 30 years old Add nutrients to your body to support the changes that occur at this age, foods that build muscle and strengthen your bones. Protein-rich foods such as eggs, seeds, nuts, soy products, chicken breast and kinoa are your friends. Milk and yogurt are essential for bone growth, but consider taking calcium and protein supplements if necessary.
3 – When you are 40 years old To regulate blood sugar levels and boost metabolism, make sure to include fiber in your diet. Things like broccoli, whole grains, and potatoes with skin can easily give you that. Avoid harmful foods, but as a treat, you can have a vegetable hamburger! They are healthy and high in fiber. Instead of ordering, try making healthy burgers at home. Other foods you can eat include healthy homemade sandwiches, lean dairy, and a variety of fruits and vegetables. Be sure to consume protein at every meal.
4 – When you are 50 years old As we age, our metabolism decreases, so it is advisable to eat foods that are easy to digest in our bodies. When you are in your 50s, you should replace the milk with your usual almond milk and cereals with different types of flavor and sugar free. You can add honey instead. Eat avocados, broccoli, blueberries, nuts and spinach to reduce symptoms of aging. Eating apples can help you lower your cholesterol and fight diabetes.
5 – When you are 60 years old When you are at this stage, be sure to include 5 portions of vegetables and 2 portions of fruit in your diet each day. Consume iron-rich items such as spinach, lentils and beans. Soybeans and leafy vegetables help you stay fit. In addition, reduce your salt intake. Also check out the added salt before buying them. Drink more water and avoid eating sweet food as much as possible.
